Paris artist Georges Seurat attributed to representatives of post-impressionism. Over his short life, Sera managed to get a good art education, write a series of paintings peculiar in style and even create a new direction in art.

The invented branch of painting was called pointillism, or in another way, divisionism. Later, the remaining masters of fine art began working in this style.

Pointillism was the creation of images using separate points. When examining the canvases made in such a manner at a distance, the small details merged harmoniously, obeying a simple optical effect. This unique painting style is read in the painting of Sera called "Sleeping." The idea of the canvas corresponds to the mainstream - post-impressionism.

Displayed such a prolonged state of a person as a dream. Impressionists, on the contrary, captured the momentary impressions.

The writing style of Sleeping is pointillism. You can immediately notice the point fragments on the canvas, which smoothly merge into a single large image of a sleeping person. This is a man, but it is difficult to guess about his age, since the face is not visible.

The character is turned back to the audience. He is wearing a slightly wrinkled shirt and a hat on his head. It seems unusual to watch asleep in this form. But, apparently, wild tiredness knocked down this man.

Sulfur perfectly reflected the state of a sleeping man. He seems motionless, calm, in the realm of dreams. As if he had escaped from the bustle of a hard day, he hid from the everyday hardships of life.

Despite the artist applying only black paint, the picture turned out to be emotionally bright and understandable to everyone. The work was created in 1884. An unusual portrait of a sleeping gentleman later fell into a private collection.
